If you are buying, selling, or registering a vehicle in Toowoomba then you will need to have a Roadworthy Certificate to adhere to Queensland Transport regulations. One of our certified technicians will be able to help you through this process by performing an authorized vehicle inspection.
Roadworthy inspections focus on confirming the condition and effectiveness of safety features including:
You will need to repair or resolve any identified issues before you are able to acquire a QLD Roadworthy Certificate after failing inspection. If you do not complete and pass the inspection within 7 days, you will not be in legal compliance with Queensland law, and you will have to begin the inspection process again. Failure to complete and pass inspection may incur a penalty or fine.
We charge $88 plus GST for our roadworthy inspection, and we can issue a certificate immediately upon completion if your vehicle passes.
Before you put any money down on a new car for yourself or your business, it is highly recommended that you take the vehicle in to be checked out by a knowledgeable mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. As part of our pre-purchase inspection process, your vehicle will be examined by one of our fully qualified technicians who will do a thorough revision of our 116 point checklist.
In addition, we offer a free computer diagnostic test to ensure the vehicle’s software is up-to-date and alarm free; and we will personally take the car or truck for a road test to confirm that it is operating at optimal conditions. What’s more, your vehicle will undergo a free PPSR History test to verify the Personal Property Securities Register regarding any history of accidents, thefts, or write-offs.
When you bring your vehicle in for a pre-purchase inspection, you’ll receive a written report detailing any causes for concern; plus, we’ll be glad to explain any questions that may arise for you during this process, as well as share advice for the next steps to take.
Toyo Auto Toowoomba is committed to providing a high-quality, comprehensive pre-purchase inspection. As part of our 116 point checklist, we evaluate the condition and status of the following items, and more:
We will make sure the vehicle is not currently suffering from fluid leaks, strange sounds when running, or battery issues. We will also check the computerized engine management system for fault codes which may reveal required repairs or replacements.
We will confirm that the systems affecting emissions and noise levels are functioning fully and accurately.
We will check that there are no issues regarding the power steering or suspension systems to ensure you end up with a responsive vehicle for a smooth ride.
We will review the condition of the vehicle’s upholstery and finishes, seat belts and safety restraints, the air conditioning system, and more.
We will check under the carriage for loose and missing parts in addition to the components of the suspension and exhaust system.
We will thoroughly examine the body of the car for evidence of damage, repairs, and parts replacements.
We will review vehicle histories for incidents involving accidents and damage, as well as thefts, write-offs, and payment defaults.
We will take your vehicle out on local Toowoomba roads to verify the proper and optimal functioning of the brakes, transmission system, and engine performance.
